I actually swapped them in and out of my lineup on my app a couple of times. Checked a few articles, saw what some of the talking heads were saying, but honestly, a lot of it was conflicting.
I thought about the matchups for the week. Let’s say, hypothetically, the Bills were facing a super tough run defense, one that just stuffs everyone. And maybe the Packers had a softer matchup, a team that gives up a lot of points to running backs. That kind_of thing usually helps me make a decision when it’s this close.
In this particular instance, after mulling it over, looking at a few too many stat projections, and just going with my gut feeling based on what I’d seen and read, I leaned a certain way.
My “Practice” Decision
I ended up slotting Josh Jacobs into my lineup. My reasoning was pretty simple in the end. I felt like his potential workload with the Packers gave him a safer floor. They paid him to be their main guy, and I think they’ll feed him. While Cook has that big-play ability, I was just a bit more worried about the consistent touches and especially those valuable goal-line carries getting siphoned off in Buffalo.
It wasn’t an easy choice, and honestly, next week I might be facing the same dilemma and go the other way depending on how things shake out. That’s just how it goes, right?
