Alright, so the 2024 NFL Prizm stuff is finally starting to trickle out, and you know what that means if you’re into cards – gotta get your hands on that checklist. It’s like the treasure map before you go digging, you know?
My Hunt for the Checklist
First thing I did, pretty much standard procedure for me, was fire up the old computer and start searching. Just hammered in the usual stuff: “2024 NFL Prizm checklist,” “Prizm football complete checklist 2024,” things like that. You gotta poke around a bit. Sometimes the first things that pop up are just forum chatter or people guessing, not the real deal. I remember one year I found a “checklist” that was mostly last year’s stuff with a new date slapped on it. Waste of time.
After a few clicks, scrolling past the ads and the clickbait, I started landing on some of the more legit spots. You know, the big card news sites, sometimes the company that makes ’em will put out a PDF, though that can take a bit longer to show up. I actually found a couple of different versions from different sources. It’s always a good idea to glance at a couple if you can, just to see if they match up. You’d be surprised how often there are small differences early on.
What I Was Looking For
Once I had what looked like a solid checklist on my screen, I really started to get into it. The base set is always where I start. How many cards total? Who are the main veteran guys they included? Then, the big one for a lot of folks: the rookies. That’s where a lot of the chase is, right? I was definitely scanning hard for the quarterbacks everyone’s talking about, and those speedy receivers or running backs who might break out.
Then you get to the shiny stuff, the reason Prizm is Prizm: the parallels! Man, it’s a whole thing.
- Silver Prizms, obviously, the classic.
- Then all the colors – Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Purple, Gold, Black… feels like they add a new shade every year. Some are numbered super low, some are easier to find.
- And you can’t forget the retail-specific ones, like the Pink Prizms or whatever they decide to do for the blaster boxes this year.
And the inserts! That’s another rabbit hole. Stuff like “Manga,” “Color Blast” if they bring it back, “Stained Glass” – those are always cool to see. I look to see if they’ve got any new, wild insert sets, or if they’re sticking with the fan favorites. Some are case hits, others are more common.
How I Use This Thing
For me, grabbing this checklist isn’t just to satisfy curiosity, though there’s a bit of that too. I use it to make a game plan. Like, okay, which specific rookies am I really going to try and get? Are there any particular parallels of players on my favorite team that I want to hunt down? It helps me figure out if I should even bother trying to buy a hobby box, which is a big spend, or if I’m better off just trying to snag singles of the guys I actually want. Saves a bit of cash that way, sometimes.
Looking at this 2024 list, it’s pretty much what you’d expect from Prizm – absolutely packed. Seems like a solid rookie class, a few names I’m definitely putting on my “watch list.” Some of the insert names sound kinda out there, but you never know, they might look great in hand. Others sound like the same old, same old, but we’ll see.
And it’s not like I look at it once and I’m done. Oh no. I’ll usually print a copy out, or at least keep the file open on my tablet. When I (eventually) get some packs, or if I’m browsing online looking to buy, I’m constantly checking back. Ticking off what I’ve managed to pull, highlighting what I’m still dreaming about. It’s a living document for the season, really.
Next Steps
So yeah, getting that 2024 NFL Prizm checklist sorted was the first hurdle. Now comes the actual challenge – finding the cards without breaking the bank. It’s always a bit of a frenzy when Prizm drops, but hey, that’s just part of the fun, or the frustration, depending on the day. Now, to decide how much I’m willing to spend chasing those shiny bits of cardboard…
