Ok, here we go, let me tell you about my little adventure with the Carl Albert baseball field.
So, I was kicking around this idea of checking out some local sports, right? Tired of just watching the big leagues on TV. I remembered hearing about Carl Albert State College having a baseball team. Figured, why not see what it’s all about? I mean, it’s baseball!
First thing I did was hop online and tried to find their game schedule. Man, that took longer than I thought. Their website wasn’t exactly the easiest to navigate. After some digging, I finally found the dates and times of their upcoming games. I saw they were playing a double-header next Saturday, so I marked it on my calendar. I was set!
Next Saturday rolls around, and I’m pretty stoked. I grabbed my hat, some sunscreen, and headed over to Poteau. It was a nice drive, actually. When I got to the college, I spent a few minutes wandering around trying to find the baseball field. It’s tucked away behind some of the other buildings, but eventually, I spotted it.
The field itself was pretty cool. Not some huge stadium or anything, but it had a real small-town vibe. You know, the kind of place where everyone knows everyone. There were maybe a hundred or so people in the stands. I grabbed a seat on the bleachers, not too close, not too far. Just right.
The game got going, and honestly, it was way more exciting than I expected. These guys were playing hard! There were some great hits, some close calls, and a few errors here and there, but that’s baseball, right? The energy was great. The crowd was into it, cheering for their team and giving the other team some good-natured ribbing.
I ended up staying for both games of the double-header. I even grabbed a hot dog from the concession stand between games. It was a pretty classic, no-frills hot dog, but it hit the spot. I was really into it. I’m not gonna lie, I got pretty invested in the game.
After the game, I walked around the field a bit. I was just taking it all in. I even saw some of the players signing autographs for some kids after the game. That was a cool moment. It’s nice to see young players being role models.
All in all, it was a great day. I got to see some good baseball, enjoy the nice weather, and just get out of the house for a bit. Would I do it again? Absolutely. I think I might even become a regular at Carl Albert baseball games. It’s a fun way to support local sports and have a good time.
I even started thinking, maybe I should get involved somehow. Perhaps volunteer or something. I’m not sure yet, but I’m definitely going to keep an eye on their schedule and see what happens. You never know, I might just become their biggest fan! It’s just a nice, laid-back way to spend an afternoon, you know? And way cheaper than going to a major league game!
