My Journey with the 2023 Bowman Inception Baseball Checklist
Alright, so I decided I was going to really dig into the 2023 Bowman Inception baseball checklist this year. You know, not just casually grab a pack or two, but actually try to understand the whole set, what was out there. It’s one of those things, you see the buzz, the cool card designs, and you think, “Okay, let’s see what this is all about.”
First thing I did was try to hunt down a proper checklist. Sounds simple, right? Well, let me tell you, the internet is a wild place. I spent a good chunk of time just sifting through different sites, trying to find one that felt complete and, you know, accurate. Some lists were okay, others were missing stuff or just confusing. It felt like a mini-quest before the actual card quest even began.
Once I finally got my hands on what looked like a solid 2023 Bowman Inception baseball checklist, that’s when the real work started. I figured I’d try my luck with single cards first. Headed down to my local card shop – good guys there, but they can’t have everything, obviously. And sometimes those single prices, phew, they can be a bit steep. But that’s the game, I guess.
So, I got my little system going.
- I printed out that checklist. Yep, a good old-fashioned paper copy.
- Found a bright yellow highlighter – makes things stand out.
- Then I started going through, marking what I already had (which wasn’t much to begin with!), what I was aiming for, and what was probably just a dream.
This Inception set, it’s got some really nice-looking cards, I’ll give it that. The photography, the design, pretty sharp. But when you start chasing those autographs, or the numbered parallels, that’s where the checklist becomes your best friend and, sometimes, your biggest headache. You see a name, a specific parallel on that list, and suddenly you need it. I definitely spent more evenings than I should have scrolling through online marketplaces, comparing, trying to bid at the right time. You win some, you lose some – usually at the last second!
And honestly, trying to keep track of it all without that checklist? Forget about it. I’d be buying doubles left and right or completely missing out on cards I wanted. I even caved and bought a few retail boxes, just for that excitement of ripping packs. Didn’t hit any monsters, but pulled some decent rookies and a few cool inserts. Every time I opened something interesting, first thing I did was run to my checklist, pen in hand, to mark it off or see what variation it was. It’s a whole ritual.
At the end of the day, did I manage to complete the entire 2023 Bowman Inception set based on my checklist? Heck no. Not even close. Some of those cards are just way too hard to find or way too expensive for my blood. But the whole process of using that checklist, of researching, hunting, trading a bit – that was the real experience. It’s not just about owning the cards, it’s about the chase. That checklist was my roadmap for this particular adventure. And I’ve still got my eye on a few empty spots on that list. The hunt never truly stops, does it?
