So, I got this Moms Ink Set a while back. Yeah, one of those. Thought it’d be a nice, calm thing to get into, you know? Maybe try some fancy lettering, or just doodle. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
But let me tell you, that box mostly just sat there, collecting dust. Why? Because everything else around then was just a complete and utter circus. Seriously. It reminds me of this one gig I had, supposed to be this amazing, groundbreaking project. Turned out to be more like a dumpster fire.
You had one team doing one thing, another doing something completely different, and nobody talking to each other. It was a proper mess. Total chaos. Kind of like they just threw a bunch of stuff at the wall to see what stuck, and then expected us to make sense of it.

So, how did that ink set tie into all this?
Well, I bought it right when this whole chaotic period was kicking off. I remember thinking, “Okay, I need something to switch off with.” Fat chance. I’d get home, absolutely drained, look at that unopened ink set, and just think, “Nope. Not today.”
There was this one particular week, everything hit the fan. We were pulling crazy hours, trying to fix problems that weren’t even our fault to begin with. They promised us more help, more resources. “Just hang in there,” they said. Yeah, right.
That ink set just became a symbol of all the quiet moments I wasn’t having. Every time I saw it, it was like a little poke, reminding me of how stressed and overwhelmed I was. It was supposed to be for relaxing, but it just made me feel more guilty for not being able to.
We were basically left to sink or swim. And when things inevitably went south, guess who they tried to blame? The folks who were actually in the trenches, trying to make bricks without straw. Classic, isn’t it?
I eventually walked away from that whole mess. Had to, for my own sanity. Took a while to shake off that feeling, you know? That constant pressure.
And that Moms Ink Set? I think I ended up giving it away. Couldn’t look at it without thinking about that awful time. It’s funny, isn’t it? Such a small thing, but it got tangled up with so much stress.
So yeah, the ink set. Nice idea. Shame about the timing. Life just has a funny way of messing with your plans for a bit of peace and quiet with some ink, doesn’t it?
