Alright, so the other day, I was looking for something to do, maybe get a little creative. The NFL season is always a big deal, and I’ve always liked the helmet designs. So, I thought, why not try and find some NFL helmet coloring pages? Seemed like a cool, chill activity.
Kicking Off the Search
My first move was just firing up the old computer. I went to my usual search engine and typed in “nfl helmets coloring pages.” Pretty basic, I know, but you gotta start somewhere. A whole load of images and links popped up, as you’d expect. Some looked pretty good right off the bat, clear lines, good shapes. Others, not so much – blurry, or the helmets looked a bit off, you know?
I started clicking through. I wasn’t looking for anything too fancy, just simple outlines of the helmets from various teams. I figured it’d be cool to have a variety. I spent a bit of time sifting through, trying to find ones that were easy to print and looked fairly accurate to the real team helmets. It’s surprising, actually, how many variations you find. Some sites had just a few, others had almost all the teams. I tried to grab a good selection.
Getting the Pages Ready
Once I found a bunch I liked, I started saving them. I made sure they were decent quality so they wouldn’t look all blocky when I printed them out. I ended up with a good little collection – enough to keep me busy for a bit. Then it was just a matter of hitting “print” and getting the paper loaded up. I remember thinking I should probably get some good colored pencils or markers ready too.
The Coloring Process Begins
With a fresh stack of printed helmet pages and my trusty colored pencils, I sat down at the table. I decided to start with one of my favorite teams. It was actually pretty relaxing, just focusing on picking the right colors and trying to stay in the lines – mostly. Sometimes it’s fun to just go with whatever color feels right, not strictly sticking to the official team colors, but for the first few, I tried to be authentic.
- I’d look up the actual helmet online if I wasn’t sure about the exact shades or decal placement.
- It took a little while to do each one, especially if it had a more complex logo.
- I found myself getting kinda into it, really concentrating on making them look good.
Finishing Up and What I Thought
After a while, I had a nice little gallery of colored helmets. Some turned out better than others, of course, but it was a fun way to pass the time. It’s kind of satisfying to take a blank outline and bring it to life with color. Plus, it’s a neat way to appreciate all the different helmet designs in the league. Simple activity, but enjoyable. I might even do it again if I’m looking for a low-key creative thing to do. Definitely a decent way to unwind.
